The wood used by Samvaz comes from the forests of Fribourg and Vaud, within a radius of 20km around the factory,
to enhance the value of regional forests and reduce energy costs as much as possible.

The principle of high-frequency gluing heats the wood like a microwave, thus ridding it of all vermin, fungi and parasites.

Samvaz wood exists in "frame", "visible to paint" and "visible class A" categories, hand sorted for perfect quality.

The wood waste is burned in our two factories to heat the surrounding buildings.

Samvaz glued laminated timber is used in timber frames, tiles, beams, slabs, planks and frameworks.

The advantage of glued laminated timber over solid wood is certainly its consistent quality,
its absence of diseases, vermin and parasites as well as its stability over time.
Splitting, cracking or twisting beams are a thing of the past.

Wooden slabs

Samvaz wooden tiles are available in visible and non-visible quality.
For aesthetic reasons, the slats can be either vertical or horizontal.
In spruce, fir or larch.

Phonic tiles

The envelope insulates external noise better and better, thus raising the perception threshold for internal noise in the building.

The SIA 181 standard defines the legal basis for maximum sound levels and minimum attenuation in buildings.
The thresholds defined in SIA 181 must be complied with.
The Samvaz phonc tiles system makes it possible to achieve these values simply, efficiently and economically.

In order to cut off the transmission of noise from one room to another, Samvaz SA has developed a sound-absorbing tile with a flexible foam core to attenuate the propagation of sound waves.

Valeurs d’atténuation:

  • For load-bearing walls (thickness 250mm, 2x 12.5mm Fermacell on each side and insulation between the tiles) the values measured at EMPA show an attenuation of -62 dB.

  • For non-load-bearing walls (thickness 250mm, 2x 12.5mm Fermacell on each side and insulation between the tiles) the values measured at EMPA show an attenuation of -53 dB.

By doubling the Fermacell-layer on each side, the value even rises to -61 dB.

The advantage lies in better sound attenuation, while remaining very simple and effective during installation.

Although the same values can be achieved with a double wall, the complexity and installation time are considerably reduced.

This tile, which is just as solid and has the same application as a traditional tile, only differs from the others by its black core. It is available in the same dimensions as traditional tiles and can be laid in the same way.

Thermic tiles

Carrelets isolantsTimber-frame constructions are on the rise. Never before has so much timber been sold in Switzerland.

Walls are getting thicker and thicker, with sometimes impressive dimensions of up to 50cm of insulation. The insulation is becoming more and more efficient and easy to inject.

However, the framework has a weak point: the tile does not insulate by far as well as the insulation material, which favours thermal bridges and harms the total insulation value of the envelope.

The tile can account for up to 10% of the surface area of the envelope, so this point should not be overlooked. There are many solutions to avoid these thermal bridges, such as staggering the tiles with an intermediate structure, with all the practical and economic disadvantages that this represents.

Carrelet isolant fibre de bois

Based on these observations, Samvaz SA has developed an insulating tile, with all the mechanical properties of the glued laminated wood tile and with the advantage of being an excellent insulator, thus avoiding any cold bridges and guaranteeing an optimal insulation of the building envelope.Flyer

The insulating tile is available in 3 insulation versions: with wood fibre for a 100% wood construction, in white expanded polystyrene (EPS) and in graphite EPS. The latter improves the insulation value by 10% compared to white EPS, with an insulation U value of 0.08 W/m2K for a 50 cm thick tile. The tile with wood fibre insulation, on the other hand, has U-values as low as 0.10 W/m2K, with the advantage of an excellent phase shift and increased sound comfort. By way of comparison, a traditional wooden tile is 0.27 W/m2K for the same thickness. An insulating tile is on average 2 to 3 times more insulating than its equivalent in solid wood.

This tile, manufactured in Châtel-St-Denis in the south of the canton of Fribourg with Swiss wood, is available in thicknesses from 20 to 50 cm, thus adapting to all timber-frame constructions, from traditional to passive houses.

NEW!

Beam wood-fibre

Samvaz SA has launched a new insulating beam called YSOX wood fibre.
Manufactured according to the same industrial process as the glued laminated wood beam with which it is combined,
The YSOX wood fibre insulating log has exceptional qualities in addition:

  • Density
  • Sound insulation
  • Phase-shift
  • Ecological

It is available in different thicknesses and can be doubled, depending on the degree of insulation required.
